In the Real Decreto 1105/2014,
de 26 de diciembre, the basic curriculum of the ESO is outlined. The Real Decreto makes explict reference to ICTs in the form of "Digital Competence". ICTs play an important role in the students' development and with the help of their teacher they can become digitally competent. ICTs also help to promote life long learning as digital skills students acquire will last throughout their life and help them to learn and research independently. As students are constantly surrounded by technology in their day to day lives it is the teacher's role to teach them how to filter and understand the legal and ethical aspects of using technology.
Finally, from the 4th of ESO onwards students have the necessary skills and maturity to use ICTs. This training continues until 2nd of Bachillerato. Starting from fourth of ESO students will get to the know ethics and morality of using the internet, computers, operating systems and
networks; the Organization, design and production of digital
information; computer security, the publication and dissemination of
content; Internet, social networks and hiperconexion.
