After completing this Quest, students will be able to describe the 8 planets and will be an expert on one. They will be travel agents planning an intergalactic trip to space! Who is ready to travel?
INTRODUCTION
Hello class!
You are travel agents trying to get your clients to take a trip to the planets. But will your sales pitch be convincing enough for them to take the trip?
You will be put into pairs and must each choose a planet to advertise.
You will be making a brochure which must include the following information:
Planet name, size, temperature, climate, moons, and neighboring planets.
Be sure to make your advertisements visually appealing with pictures of your planets! Good luck!
TASK
In your groups pairs, you will see links to each of the planets. Click on the links to read about the planets and select the one you want to advertise (Earth is not an option). Make sure you read about each one carefully so you know that it is the one you really want to pick.
After reading about each, begin constructing your brochure making sure to include the following information:
-Planet name
-Color
-Size
-Distance from the Sun
-How long its days are/how long its years are
-Its neighboring planets
-Temperature
-Atmosphere
-Surface: what is the planet like?
-Five additional facts about it
-What makes your planet the best one to go visit?
Be sure to also include pictures of your planet and make your brochure visually attractive. After finishing your brochure, we will have a day where each group presents their planet to the class. Make sure to discuss with your group how you want to do the presentation.
